Russian Virtual Student Paper Competition

The Russian Studies Department invites you to join us at a celebration of student scholarship! We are hosting a Virtual Student Research Competition via Zoom. 15 students from Mac and beyond, representing 10 colleges and universities, will present (in English) their research at a series of panels on topics related to Russia and the region. At each panel, brief presentations by students will be followed by discussion. Cash prizes will be awarded to the best presentations.


Interdisciplinary Studies I: Gender, Politics, and Human Rights (10-11 am CST)

Interdisciplinary Studies II: The Enduring Soviet Legacy (12-1 pm CST)

Literature: Personal and National Identities (2-3 pm CST)

Students of Russian will recite poetry for your listening pleasure during the intermissions.

Everyone is welcome, whether for an hour or the whole event.
