In addition to being the graphic symbol within the logo lock-ups, the shield symbol can also be used as independent graphic separate from the wordmark. The shield is an extension of the identity and should be used to support the brand. It is typically used in two ways: as an enlarged background graphic or as a super-graphic.
The primary shield color is MAC Blue or reversed to white from MAC Blue or other brand colors. It can also be used in black and MAC gray.
When using the shield as a super-graphic, it is typically oversized in scale, and bleeds off the edges of the page surface or design element. It is important that the scale isn’t so large that the basic shape and qualities of the shield are unclear. It is acceptable to crop off (or into) two of the four sides. Do not crop more than two edges on any execution.
Note: Do not crop into both the left and right edges at the same time. This shows you where to crop when you crop.
