Student groups

Student groups can use Macalester’s main logo but they cannot alter it in any way and the design must be approved by Communications. Students are welcome to develop logos and artwork that are not aligned with the college brand.

Student group logos and marks

• Student groups are not allowed to use standard college branding unless they use it according to the brand guidelines. 
• Student groups are free to develop their own logos and marks but they cannot alter any mark within the Macalester system. For example, groups cannot add elements to the shield or use fonts close to the Macalester wordmark. They can use the shield so long as it adheres to our guidelines.
• Communications can provide guidance on artwork but cannot design logos or marks for student groups.
