On August 23, we began conducting asymptomatic COVID-19 testing for on- and off-campus students, as well as staff and faculty who wanted to be tested.

After the initial testing, we will update this information weekly with the data starting and ending with midnight on Sunday. This page will be updated every Tuesday morning with the previous week’s results.

This table provides aggregate information for Macalester students, staff, and faculty. The testing data come from our asymptomatic testing as well as tests performed by our Hamre Center for Health & Wellness for students exhibiting symptoms and those who have been identified as close contacts of someone who tested positive. The off-campus information incorporates self-reported information from faculty, staff, and students who are not part of Macalester’s residential housing program.

** These individuals have been identified by contact tracing performed by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). Macalester has partnered with the MDH to assist with contact tracing. Denise Ward (Associate Dean for Student Services) serves as the college’s contact tracing liaison to MDH.

Isolation is for individuals who have been diagnosed with COVID-19; quarantine is for individuals who have been identified as a close-contact (i.e. within 6-feet for 15 minutes or longer in a 24 hour period).
