  • NurseNow: A nurse triage phone line that is free to all Macalester students.  It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. NurseNow (aka AccessNurse) can be reached by calling the Hamre Center (651-696-6275) and selecting option 3 on the voice mail message. If you call during office hours and reach a staff member, simply asked to be connected to the nurse line. This is a great place to start if you don’t feel well and aren’t sure what to do. NurseNow is familiar with emergency referral resources in the area and will provide the Hamre Center with a report of the call. You can either share your name when you call or can remain anonymous.
  • Most insurance companies offer a nurse care line option – check on the back of your insurance card for the telephone number. You can usually talk with a provider who can help determine if you should seek immediate medical care.
