4. Job Opening at Panache
Ameeta Jaiswal-Dale, a faculty member at the University of St. Thomas, has a small beverage business, Panache, that she began with an MBA alum, who has moved on. It is a 100% women owned local company adding value to their regional apple. They do not just talk about being local and sustainable, they practice it and have a non-corporate real food model of production, where they implement the belief of “food as medicine”. Ameeta is in constant need of help for operations and sales as well as some back office work to manage social media. She can offer part time, independent contract work using 1099 contracts and hourly pay of $15/ hr with mileage reimbursements. These are good year round “part time second jobs” over weekend mornings and end of week days. At first glance, these jobs seem perfunctory and rather simple, but they are an excellent vehicle to build confidence, get to know the insides of a business, learn interpersonal and communication skills and create networks within their local business / non-business community. The job will teach you the minutia of business operations as well – a life skill that transfers well to non-business situations. All I seek are students willing to learn and have an open mind without reservation for work that is not in a corporate office!!
Questions? Contact Ameeta Jaiswal-Dale at [email protected].
