Former Macalester Trustee W. John Driscoll dead at 83
W. John Driscoll of Sunfish Lake, Minn., died peacefully Saturday, December 22, 2012, at home with his family. A long-time supporter of Macalester College, Driscoll fought Parkinson's for many years. He was 83.

French Meadow Bakery & Café to open in St. Paul near Macalester
French Meadow Bakery & Café is coming to St. Paul. The bakery and café will open at 1662-66 Grand Ave., former home to Coat of Many Colors and Coffee News Cafe. French Meadow on Grand will occupy the entire first floor of the building that is owned by Macalester College. In January the company will begin renovations and is expected to open in May 2013.

Alumni Trip to Turkey 2012
On October 23, a group of alumni embarked on the 2012 trip to Turkey, where they visited Istanbul, viewed ancient ruins, and took a four-day yacht trip along the Turquoise Coast. They returned two weeks later with new sights, knowledge, and friendship. Photos by Gabrielle Lawrence '73.
