Instructor: Professor Adrienne Christiansen, Political Science

Course snapshot: Students will develop their argumentation skills by focusing on congressional debates that have powerfully shaped the United States, including slavery, Indian removal, woman’s rights, war powers, and impeachment.

Why should I take this class? Students need these skills to ascertain the truth about political matters, and then to learn ways of using language and evidence and argument sources and authorities credibly in order to bring rational civil discussion to public political matters.

Fun fact: One of the ways students get to know each other in this class is by sitting around physically-distanced bonfires in my backyard.
