Better late than never!   Mark your calendars for the Macalester Class of 1971 50th Reunion, June 2-5, 2022!

Okay, technically, it will be our 51st Reunion. Whatever we call it, it promises to be the biggest and best reunion ever.  Biggest because there will be three 50-year reunions on campus at once, ours plus those of the classes of 1970 and 1972, and best . . . well, because it will have the classes of 1970, 1971, and 1972! And it will be extra special because, besides getting to reconnect with all friends and colleagues from that era, it will just be good to get out of the house after being cooped up for two years.

Because of the additional reunion classes being on campus, dorm space will not be available for classes of 1970 and 1971. So, we have reserved rooms at a special rate for the Classes of 1970 and 1971 at both the Intercontinental and St. Paul Hotels in downtown St Paul:

Intercontinental Saint Paul Riverfront
$139 per night plus local taxes and fees

The Saint Paul Hotel
$169 per night plus local taxes and fees

Ask for the “Macalester College 50 Year Class Reunion 2022” special rate.

There will be shuttles from downtown to the campus, and we will have an on-campus Class of ’70-’71 Headquarters on campus, a place to gather, relax, and refresh. Our class dinner will be at the Intercontinental, but all other events, including the Golden Scots Induction Ceremony, the Wallace Dinner (for those who have included Macalester in their estate plans), the all-class picnic and breakfast, and various programs and gatherings will be on campus.

Watch for email and “snail mail” updates from your reunion committee and from the college, along with information about registration.

If you have any ideas, contact us or another member of the planning committee: https://www.macalester.edu/reunion/meet-your-planning-committee/. And consider updating your information on the MacDirect website, Login to MacDirect.

We look forward to seeing you all in June (even if we are still wearing masks). In the meantime, continue to be safe.

All the best,
