Service on Committees
The Staff Advisory Council (SAC) understands the importance of staff engagement and representation across the college. In an effort to create more opportunities, SAC facilitates committee nominations for appointment on select college-wide committees.
By supporting meaningful staff representation and maintaining ongoing engagement with these committees, SAC promotes transparency, fosters trust, and helps ensure institutional decisions are informed by the experience of our staff community.
Those committees and selection process are listed below.
Additional information (including non-SAC appointed committees) is available on the campus committees page.

Committee Nomination Process SAC will typically reach out to Committee Chairs in late Spring semester to evaluate vacant staff representation.
SAC will circulate a form to solicit nominations for any vacant positions on the committees listed above in early Fall semester. At this time, staff will be provided information about the committee and the opportunity to self-nominate or nominate other staff colleagues.
Nominations are reviewed by SAC to determine those that will be forwarded on to Committee Chairs for appointment. The following considerations may be used in that process:
- Staff current or recent commitment on other college-wide committees?
Multiple committee nominations for an individual. - If a committee has specific requirements for membership (e.g. exempt vs non-exempt).
Once confirmed by SAC, nominees will receive outreach notifying them on their nomination. At this time staff may decline.
Nominee information will be forwarded to the respective committee Chair typically no later than Fall Break. The Chair will be responsible to make a final selection based on the needs of the committee. The Chair will then reach out to the selected nominee(s) for final appointment to the committee. Once appointed the individual(s) will work with the Chair and the committee on next steps.
