Help us welcome Scottie to the fold!

We’re excited to share that Macalester College has joined a research and development cohort of thirteen institutions partnering with Givzey, a Boston-based startup focused on nonprofit solutions, to use its AI-powered autonomous engagement tool to expand options for alumni participation and giving.

This AI-based approach is a significant leap forward in how we and other nonprofits in the US leverage technology to explore new ways for our community to engage with and give to Macalester. By engaging with Scottie, you help us discover how artificial intelligence can be used to further our mission and connect with our supporters.

We are optimistic that Mac’s participation in helping to develop this new technology will influence its progress in positive ways. Right now, we’re leading an effort with Givzey and Macalester’s Sustainability Office to identify opportunities to offset the environmental impacts of AI. It’s just one way we hope to bring Mac values to the table as these new technologies are developed.

This is an innovative opportunity to leverage new technology and pilot a fresh approach to fundraising. If you have questions, please contact Vice President for Advancement Joanna E. Curtis ’97 at [email protected].

“At Macalester, we believe that education is a fundamentally transformative experience that requires collaboration, curiosity, and care for our community. Partnering with Givzey and this research and development cohort gives our advancement team a chance to model this—to learn alongside our peers, to challenge traditional ways of doing our work, and to imagine new and innovative methods for inspiring alumni to stay connected and support our mission.” –Joanna E.
