To start, Professor Peter Bognanni’s personal essay was published in the Iowa Magazine at the beginning of the month. In the essay, he discusses his new book, the inspiration for it, and the way his own mental health struggles have impacted his writing. You can read the article here!

Professor Emma Törzs was the visiting writer at Anoka-Ramsey this year, as part of their Minnesota Writers’ Series, on April 14th. You can read more about the event here.

Professor Ali had three poems published in the spring 2026 issue of The Poetry Review, which is a literary journal based in the UK. You can read the issue here!

Senior Jizelle Villegas’ paper “Transcending and Complicating Stereotypes in Latine Young Adult Literature: Forging New Alternatives through Glimmers” has been selected for the inclusion in the program of the XI Symposium of the Instituto Cervantes Observatory at Harvard this summer. This symposium is for scholars and researchers with an interest in the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures.

Post-Grad Plans:

Current senior Audrey Milk will be attending the National University of Ireland-Maynooth for a master’s of Irish and Local History.

’23 alum Monte Ebbesen will be attending the New Writers’ Program at the University of Texas, Austin. They will be pursuing an MFA in poetry.

Alum Jordan Grabanski will be attending Arizona State University for an MFA in poetry.

Alum James Hartzer will be attending the University of Michigan for an MFA in poetry.
