He, Him, His

Why I chose Admissions
Like many of my colleagues, I unknowingly started my Admissions career as a student. I worked my way up from volunteer tour guide to tour guide coordinator and then to admissions senior intern at Mac. I now want to share Mac’s great opportunities with high school students.

Community Involvement
As a student at Macalester, I was a history and educational studies double major, a varsity baseball player, and a member of Macalester’s improv group, Fresh Concepts. I serve as the Admissions liaison to Mac athletics and am active in the Minnesota Association for College Admission Counseling as a member of the Admissions Practices Committee.

Favorite time at Mac
When viewed through the lens of admissions and the academic calendar, most of my favorite times of the year coincide with the beginning of a new season. That can quite literally be the start of a season—the beginning of Fall at Mac is great—but also the start of our seasons of Admissions travel, application review, or on-campus events and programming in April. Part of the excitement of higher education in Minnesota, and Admissions specifically, is that the next season (both in terms of weather and in terms of Admissions) is always around the corner!

Love about the Twin Cities
Please don’t tell my family back in the Bay Area, but the Twin Cities feel like home. We have the best of both worlds. Our campus provides easy access to all the resources and opportunities of a pair of wonderful cities, but we’re also in a quiet and accessible neighborhood with all sorts of green space and local businesses.

On a completely different note, as a former baseball player, I live two blocks from a light-rail train line that takes me to a professional baseball field in either direction! I don’t think it gets any better than that.
