Every year, Macalester students are awarded fellowships and scholarships from well-known organizations such as Fulbright, Rhodes, and the National Science Foundation.

Recent Accolades from Mac Grads

Meira Smit ’25

Thomas J. Watson Fellowship

Thomas J. Watson Fellowship recipients are graduating seniors nominated by one of 41 partner institutions. They receive a $40,000 stipend, student loan assistance, and health care for a one-year project outside the United States. Meira Smit ’25 received a grant to research sustainable, ancestral agricultural practices across the world.

Ronan Wallace ʼ22

Knight-Hennessy Scholarship

Knight-Hennessy scholars receive up to three years of financial support to pursue graduate studies at Stanford while “engaging in experiences that prepare them to be visionary, courageous, and collaborative leaders who address complex challenges facing the world.” Ronan Wallace ʼ22 is the first Macalester graduate to receive this honor.
