Arnold H. Lowe Endowed Lecture

The Macalester College Religious Studies Department presents this annual endowed lecture featuring significant scholars coming to campus to discuss current issues and work on religion. 

This year, we are bringing three scholars - all Macalester Religious Studies alumni - to engage on these issues:

  • SherAli Tareen, Assistant Professor, Franklin and Marshall College, author Defending Muhammad in Modernity (2020).
  • Katrina Olds, Professor and Chair, Religious Studies, University of San Francisco (History), author Forging the Past: Invented histories in Counter-Reformation Spain (2015)
  • Sonia Hazard, Assistant Professor (Religious Studies), Florida State University. Author, Building Evangelical America: How the American Tract Society Laid the Groundwork for a Religious Revolution, (forthcoming)
