Dishing Out Urban Food Policy

In Michael Zis' Spring 2021 Mod 4 political science course "Hungry for Change," students engaged in a collaborative investigation of the approaches U.S. cities and urban social movements have taken to support broad food system changes with an eye to making recommendations to the City of Minneapolis' own Food Action Plan. Michael Zis and a student from the course, Grace McDonough, will be discussing those recommendations, the class's partnership with the city, and how these led to their development of a website cataloging urban policies to support diets and nutrition as well as addressing systemic food inequities. This event will be held in Davis Court. Lunch will be provided with time to eat from 11:45 a.m.-12 p.m. before the presentation and again from 12:45-1 p.m. after.
