Faculty Advisory Council

The Faculty Advisory Council is composed of seven elected tenured faculty members including the three chairs of the standing committees (SPA, EPAG, FPC). The four elected faculty positions are filled by tenured members from the four divisions of the College. The President, Provost, and Dean of the Faculty are ex officio, non-voting members.

The Faculty Advisory Council’s purpose is to shape and sustain a culture of shared governance. Duties of the committee include:

  • To facilitate ongoing and timely communication between the faculty and administration
  • To raise to the President, Provost, and Dean of the Faculty matters of concern to the faculty
  • Identifying emerging priorities and reporting them to the President
  • To advise the elected faculty committees in the formation of their agendas, and to study and advance proposals addressing matters of significance to the College’s mission, governance, and long-term well-being
