Missy Staples Thompson
High Winds Fund Committee Member, Trustee
Missy Staples Thompson has been a leader in the field of finance, economic development, and community engagement for over thirty years. She recently retired as a principal in the Twin Cities based consulting firm Xanthus Partners, where she traveled the country advising local and state government on community stabilization and economic development strategies.
Prior to Xanthus Partners, Missy was the Minnesota director of a Fortune 500 company where she developed and successfully implemented a $25 billion housing investment plan for the state.
Missy is actively engaged in community activities and currently serves on the boards of several organizations including the Saint Paul Public Housing Agency and LEAP Pediatric and Adolescent Care. Twin Cities Business has selected her as a “Top Woman Change Maker,” and she has been honored as a “Top Woman in Finance” by the newspaper Finance & Commerce.
Missy received her BA from Macalester College, and was a Humphrey Fellow at the University of Minnesota. She and her husband Gar Hargens live in St. Paul.
