Jazz Trumpet


Trumpet Player Solomon Parham from Detroit, MI has established a substantial music education and community pathway in the Twin Cities. Solomon began his musical education in Detroit at the age of 9, studying trumpet with Herbie Williams. Time proceeded, as did Solomon’s desire to grow musically and to further cultivate his musical awareness. Solomon graduated from Wayne State University, earning a Bachelor Degree in Instrumental Music Education and earned his Master’s in Performance with an emphasis in trumpet from McNally Smith College of Music.

He has performed in the Twin Cities ranging from co-composing for KBEM Jazz 88.5 radio drama, hosting Jazz workshops for Walker West Music, Minnesota Jazz  Education, summer youth Jazz camps such as Jazz Around Minneapolis (JAM). Solomon has played on stages with celebrated musicians such as Delfeayo Marsalis, Eric Kamau Gravatt, Saxophonist Eric Alexander, Wess Anderson, and Bassist Christian McBride. His repertoire list is extensive, including music ranging from Hip Hop to Jazz. Solomon is a dedicated music educator and consummate professional in the fine and performing arts.
