Political Communication, Campaigns and Elections
Professor Christiansen’s primary scholarly interests include the rhetoric of political campaigns and social movements, and the role of technology in shaping socio-political change. She is at work on a manuscript about the ways that political monuments in Cyprus exacerbate ethno-nationalist conflict on the island. She teaches two courses in Political Science: CyberPolitics and the Rhetoric of Campaigns and Elections. She received Macalester’s 2008 Excellence in Teaching Award and currently directs the Jan Serie Center for Scholarship and Teaching. She loves to visit other countries and enjoys reading novels, fishing, and riding her motor scooter.
