Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Minnesota in the Twin Cities metro area. Some of my favorite childhood memories are from spending time with my two older sisters and younger brother. Growing up in Minnesota helped foster my appreciation for community, relationships, and the importance of creating places where people feel they belong.

What are your main responsibilities?
As the Interim Executive Director of Residential Life, I oversee all aspects of the residential experience at Macalester. I provide leadership and support for a team that includes two Associate Directors, one Assistant Director, five Hall Directors, and our student staff, including Resident Assistants. Together, we work to create a residential environment that supports student learning, well-being, belonging, and success both inside and outside the classroom.

What do you love most about Mac?
What I love most about Mac is its unwavering commitment to the student experience and student success. Every day, I have the privilege of working alongside talented staff and faculty who genuinely put students first. The care, dedication, and sense of purpose across the community make Mac a special place to live, learn, and work.

What is your favorite hobby?
It’s hard to choose just one! In my free time, I enjoy watching Survivor, playing cribbage with my wife, working on projects in my yard, and exploring the world of birding. I’m still a novice birder, but I enjoy any opportunity to get outside and see what I can spot.
