Reuzzi To-Go Containers

Macalester is currently piloting a program called Reuzzi. This is a container tracking app for dining services, which uses a unique QR code on every container, similar to a library book system. Students simply scan a container for check-out when they are taking food to go, show the Reuzzi Pass on their phones to the cashier, and drop off the container at a designated collection site when complete.

During FY 2023, Dining Services distributed 521,940 pieces of single-use disposable to-go ware to their customers. Using green to-go containers instead of compostable single-use items in dining facilities helps to reduce costs and our overall waste stream.

How It Works

Step 1: Download the Reuzzi App and checkout a container from Cafe Mac!

Step 2: Take your meal to go and enjoy!

Step 3: Return your empty container to the Campus Center. Scan the QR code on the sign and on your item before dropping it in the bin!
