Enbridge Divestment Proposal Portal

On April 19th, 2021 the Social Responsibility Committee (SRC) forwarded a proposal to divest the college from Enbridge Energy, denounce the Line 3 Oil Pipeline Expansion Project and to create greater transparency in the operation of the college endowment.

On August 23rd, the Board of Trustees responded to that proposal with decisions to: 1) divest of its shares of Enbridge, Inc., and 2) adopt a college investment policy that prohibits new investments that are solely oil and gas asset based. The Board declined to denounce Enbridge or the Line 3 project. Read the Board’s full response here.

The Board of Trustees of the college has created an Ad Hoc Committee to review the proposal and make a recommendation to the full board. The committee members are:

  • Karen Brasel ’87
  • Robin Colman ’78
  • Edward Donkor ’04
  • Tim Hart-Andersen P’11
  • Seth Levine ’94
  • Sandra Ortiz ’97
  • Susan Schwartz ’71
