To prepare for go-live, Macalester is hosting a series of role-specific training sessions designed to get you comfortable with the new system. Each session is tailored to your specific responsibilities—please review the options below to find the training that best fits your role.

Workday for Faculty (30 min)

This session is designed specifically for faculty members, and anyone that supports faculty members, to prepare for the transition to Workday. After this training, you will have gained familiarity with Workday tasks including how to update your personal information, submit expenses (e.g. Pcard reconciliation), and what support resources will be available. The same content will be delivered at both the in-person and Zoom sessions; so faculty will only need to attend one of these sessions or watch the recording

Workday for Department Chairs (1 hr)

This session is designed specifically for department chairs, and anyone that supports faculty members, to prepare for the transition to Workday. After this training, you will have gained familiarity with Workday tasks including how to update your personal information, submit expenses (e.g. Pcard reconciliation), review your departments’ expenses and staff timesheets, and what support resources will be available. Content from the Workday for Faculty training will also be covered in this session, so Chairs only need to attend this session or watch the recording.

This session is designed specifically for staff members to prepare for the transition to Workday. After this training, you will have gained familiarity with Workday tasks including how to update your personal information, submit expenses (e.g. Pcard reconciliation), enter time and time off (absence) requests, and what support resources will be available. The same content will be delivered at both the in-person and Zoom sessions; so staff only need to attend one of these sessions or watch the recording.

Workday for Staff Managers (1.5 hr)

This session is designed specifically for managers of staff, and anyone that supports managers, to prepare for the transition to Workday and tasks starting June 1. After this training, you will gain familiarity with Workday tasks including how to update your personal information, submit expenses (e.g. Pcard reconciliation), review your team members’ expenses and timesheets, and what support resources will be available.

Content from the staff training will be covered in this session, so managers only need to attend one of these sessions or watch the recording. Managing staff in Workday follows many of the same steps as supervising student employees in Workday, with some key differences. If you have both staff and student employees report to you, we recommend attending or watching the recording of both the Manager sessions and the Student Employee Supervisor sessions.

Workday for Student Employee Supervisors (1 hr)

This session is designed specifically for supervisors of student employees, and anyone that supports student employee supervisors, to prepare for the transition to Workday and tasks starting June 1. After this training, you will gain familiarity with the student employee experience in Workday, how to review and correct student timesheets, and what support resources will be available. Managing staff in Workday follows many of the same steps as supervising student employees in Workday, with some key differences. If you have both staff and student employees report to you, we recommend attending or watching the recording of this session and also attending or watching the recording of Workday for Managers.

This session will be formatted to be half training, half question-and-answer time and is designed specifically for people that support these frequent or high-volume expensing and Accounts Payable tasks:
