She/Her

Hello! I’m Kerri and I use she/her pronouns. I have been at Macalester since 2013.

I was a first generation college student and I struggled academically my first semester – it was a wake-up call for me. I worked hard to turn things around which included learning how to manage my time more effectively and better utilizing campus resources. Unfortunately, I did not do any internships while in school, but instead volunteered at a local Red Cross. When I wasn’t studying – I spent a large part of my spare time working multiple part-time jobs to help pay for bills and rent.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology and a master’s degree in Social Responsibility from St. Cloud State University (SCSU). I had a strong interest in behavioral health and a desire to help people which drew me to my major. My senior year of college I got heavily involved and interested in the Human Relations and Multicultural Education department at SCSU which led me to pursue my master’s degree in Social Responsibility. The program was an interdisciplinary program in social justice, community activism and social change. I recently became a Certified Professional Project Manager and have a mini MBA in Nonprofit Organizations both from the University of St. Thomas.

My career in higher education started in 2003 and I have been hooked ever since. Working with college students is a lot of fun and I enjoy helping connect them to opportunities during and after college.

Outside of work I enjoy hiking (especially MN State parks), spending time with my husband, kids (12 & 16). and golden retriever, listening to music and audio books, going to concerts and cooking.
