Bonner J-Term Course
Community-based engagement in New Orleans
Through our J-term Course, Bonner Community Scholars work with longer-term partnerships the Community Engagement Center has established across the New Orleans metropolitan area. In addition to community-based projects, Bonners engage in discussions and complete course readings designed to facilitate learning and reflection on topics related to engagement, social change and community resiliency through the themes of Education, Community and Cultural Survival. The course also invites Bonners into collaborative engagement with schools, neighborhoods and communities, encouraging active participation in the challenging conversations that engage New Orleans and so many cities in North America and across the globe.
