Academic Attire/Regalia
Wearing regalia for the Commencement ceremony is strongly encouraged. The Provost’s office has a limited number of regalia sets with Macalester hoods available for faculty or staff to borrow, and will send a message to faculty prior to commencement with more details. Please email [email protected] with questions about academic regalia.
Volunteer for Commencement 2024!
Every year we rely on faculty and staff to help us make Commencement a success for our graduating seniors and their families. If you’re able to volunteer During Senior week, several roles are available.
Some volunteer roles also include a ticket to the ceremony. There will be a very limited number of tickets available to those who are not volunteering. Demand for tickets is high this year, in part because the high school graduation of many in this graduating class was impacted by the pandemic.

We are still assessing the number of tickets that will be available for staff or students who are not volunteering and wish to attend Commencement. More ticket details will be shared in the Mac Daily during the last week of April.
