The Crystal Globe Award for Distinguished Service to the Macalester Geography Department recognizes alumni and friends of the Department who make significant contributions to the life of the department, the discipline, and the continued education of our students and department members. Through this award we express our appreciation for the people who contribute their time and energies to expanding and energizing the discipline and practice of geography.
Award winners may come from any domain (public sector, private sector, education, not-for-profit, etc.) and from any year of graduation or connection to the department. Being an alumnus is not a requirement. This is a celebration of our friends and alumnae. Awardees names will be added to a plaque in the department and receive a crystal globe.
