Kristin Beckmann

High Winds Fund Committee Member

Ms. Beckmann is currently the Chief of Staff of Communications and Scheduling for Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Previously, as chief operating officer at the Center for Economic Inclusion, Kristin Beckmann will built on the work she started as the Deputy Mayor of the City of Saint Paul. In addition to being the City Manager, Kristin led Mayor Coleman’s Racial Equity Initiative to diversify the workforce, equitably deliver city services, and build a more inclusive community. Prior to working at the city, Kristin was the VP of Programs & Services for Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity where she led a team working with homebuyers and owners as they created homes and neighborhoods where they could thrive.

Kristin came to Habitat from SEIU, a labor union largely representing women and recent immigrants who are striving for living wage jobs. Kristin also worked as a fundraiser on political campaigns and is graduate of both the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and Macalester College. She serves on the boards of the Family Housing Fund, MN Housing Partnership, and Saint Paul YWCA. She and her husband Robert Richman ‘92 live in Saint Paul with their two kids and are members of Mount Zion congregation.
