Reporting Intermittent Leave

AbsencePlus is responsible for tracking your FMLA hours. Reporting each occurrence of intermittent leave ensures that your usage is recorded accurately, preventing overuse and helping you stay within your allotted time. Intermittent time off can be reported in 15 minute (0.25) increments. Each intermittent leave must align with the condition and frequency outlined in your medical certification. AbsencePlus verifies this alignment to confirm eligibility. If your reported leave does not match the certified condition, it could be denied.

If you are on an intermittent leave of absence, make sure to follow the two steps below to stay in compliance with your timely reporting responsibilities.

Step 1: Notify your Manager of the Absence

As soon as you become aware of your need for time off related to your leave reason, you must inform your manager. Intermittent time off can be reported in 15 minute (0.25) increments.

Step 2: Report FMLA time to AbsencePlus

After notifying your manager, you must contact AbsencePlus to report your absence within 3 days of the missed time. AbsencePlus will review the request to ensure it aligns with the certified reason for leave and that you have sufficient protected leave available.

You must report your absence to AbsencePlus in one of the following ways:

Please note: If you fail to follow these reporting requirements your leave may not have the job protection. It is very important that you follow this process.
