  • Event Photos – Community Screen Printing Workshop with local artists Rebekah Crisanta Ybarra and Xilam Balam of Electric Machete Studios (EMS), 11:30-1 pm, in the tent outside Kagin Commons. Try your hand at screen printing designs created by LSU-Latinx Student Union and EMS, and take home your handmade bandana print to commemorate the weekend. All are welcome. No registration required.

  • Campus tour for delegates, alumni, parents and other campus visitors, 1:30 p.m. at flagpole across from the Chapel (rain location: inside Chapel lobby)
  • Volleyball game vs. Concordia-Moorhead, 4:30 p.m, Alumni Gymnasium, Leonard Center
  • Event Photos – M Club Tailgate Gathering, 5 p.m. outside the Macalester Stadium
  • Women’s soccer game vs. Saint Catherine’s, 6 p.m., Macalester Stadium
  • Inauguration Kickback (Student Only Event), 7-10 p.m. on Shaw Field, with special guest DJ @SophiaEris (DJ for @lizzobeeating)

Sunday, October 10

  • Inspired by President Rivera’s past #SelfCareSunday posts, please take a moment to share on social media ways in which you’re taking care of yourself physically and mentally on this community-wide #SelfCareSunday
  • Guided meditation, 11 a.m. Weyerhaeuser Chapel, with the Center for Religious and Spiritual Life – in-person, on campus, and virtually via Zoom (register for the meditation Zoom). Meditation practices teach us to live more fully in our bodies, go through the day with more ease and mental clarity and begin to open our hearts to the beauty and connectedness that constantly supports us. Join Macalester Buddhist Chaplain, Rev. Marc Anderson, for this Sunday morning meditation.
  • Men’s soccer game vs. University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, 3 p.m., Macalester Stadium

COVID-19 Precautions

Given the recent rise in COVID-19 cases, Macalester expects that all in-person Inauguration attendees:

  • Be fully vaccinated or obtain a negative COVID-19 test 48 hours prior to the event
  • Wear well-fitted masks in public indoor spaces on campus
  • Stay home if they have had a known exposure within 14 days of the Inauguration or are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms
