Provost Lisa Anderson-Levy poses with David Martyn as he holds his award citation

Prof. David Martyn

Dr. David Martyn (German Studies) won the 2026 Jack and Marty Rossmann Excellence in Teaching Award. On September 21st, he’ll host a Conversations about Scholarship and Teaching (CAST) session to share a little bit about how his years teaching at the University of Bonn changed his approach to teaching writing. As one student nominator wrote about Professor Martyn, “David taught me how to write, and how to interpret, and he taught me how to think without ever telling me what to think, and for this I am deeply and forever grateful.” Come learn more about what makes David such a fantastic teacher!
