Macro Impact with Micro Finance

I am working with the African Development Center to provide African refugees and immigrants with financial resources. Most of the clients we work with have no formal banking experience, or account. We provide financial literacy training, help with home ownership, education, and skill training as well as micro loans for small business owners. I have created an online accounting system for the organization to make the loan process easier for the African Development Center, provide the clients with easier tracking devices and more payment options, and to help us generate more funding from the City of Minneapolis.

I am interested in international development and using my focus of human rights and humanitarianism as a broad lens to define what development tools people around the world need to live healthy and dignified lives.

One major challenge for college students is that they cannot afford to take unpaid internships, which often provide valuable experiences. This fellowship makes it possible for students to pursue their interests and develop their career paths. Thank you!!
