Informational Interviewing

Informational interviews are conversations with interesting people — alumni, supervisors, family friends or relatives — that facilitate learning and relationship-building.

Use them to explore potential fields of interest, deepen your understanding of a particular field or organization, or network for future opportunities. These may be formal, scheduled meetings or they may be more casual conversations over coffee or lunch.
