Student Alternative Testing

Testing is an important component of disability accommodations and due to the impact of testing and number of requests we receive, we have established a process to ensure testing accommodations are coordinated and provided appropriately in collaboration with the Center for Disability Resources.

Pre Test

Students should provide faculty their accommodation plans to faculty and determine testing accommodations at least 5 days in advance of exams to ensure appropriate space planning and staffing are coordinated.  Late exam requests we may be unable to honor.

Faculty make the determination of where/how exams will be administered as long as appropriate accommodations are provided.

Alternatives to In-Class Exams

  • Faculty may provide testing accommodations through Moodle. Taking a Quiz in Moodle.
  • Faculty  may decide to provide alternative assignments instead of timed exams (take-home exams, etc)
  • Students can shcedule exams in AIM.

Scheduling Exams in AIM

If faculty are unable to provide testing accommodations in their class, students approved for testing accommodations can schedule your exam with Disbility Resources via this process through the AIM system:

If there questions or concerns about how to access accommodated exams, please contact the Center for Disability Resources ([email protected])

Testing Processes and Policies

Students should be aware of appropriate testing policies and procedures.
