Temporary Disabilites

The Center for Disability Resources recognizes a short-term impairment or disabilities of less than six months may need access to services and resources similar to individuals with long-term disabilities.  Examples of short-term disabilities may include, but are not limited to: broken limbs, concussions, hand injuries, impairments following surgery or medical illness/treatments.

Students with short-term disabilities can contact Disability Resources or may be referred from professional staff for support; we will discuss if additional information is required.  If you are a student in need of accommodations due to a temporary condition, please connect with Center for Disability Resources as soon as possible by contacting Josie Hurka: [email protected]

Accommodations are approved on a case-by-case basis and may involve the interactions of other staff (e.g, Athletics or Residential Life).

Please note: The Center for Disability Resources does not lend out or provide medical equipment or medical devices. We reccomend contacting one of the local pharmacys near campus. Students may also contact the Hamre Center to talk with the Insurance Specialist.
