Professor Anderson is a macroeconomist specializing in interactions between independently managed fiscal and monetary policy. Using game theoretic concepts within contemporary macroeconomic models, his research examines how the relationship between American fiscal policymakers and the Federal Reserve affects aggregate economic outcomes. His current projects include measuring time-varying fiscal strength in the US, analyzing economic effects of debt issuance and open market operations, and incorporating realistic fiscal policy into standard theoretical macroeconomic frameworks.
