Infectious Disease Task Force

Background

Initially established in 2006 as a Pandemic Response Team, the COVID-19 pandemic pressed this group in new directions and a new name: the Infectious Disease Task Force (IDTF). The work of the IDTF highlighted the need for ongoing communication among different stakeholders on campus, including students, faculty, and staff.

Charge of the Task Force

The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) has charged the Infectious Disease Task Force (IDTF) to monitor public health conditions, so as to guide the preparation for and response to current or emerging public health events, orders, and protocols that may impact the campus. The IDTF provides recommendations to the SLT for balanced strategies on meeting safety and operational needs, compliance expectations, communication, budget impact, and procedures to mitigate potential negative impacts on students, staff, and faculty. When needed, the IDTF facilitates information gathering and sharing with the Minnesota Department of Health, local hospitals, and civic authorities; with additional information shared on this webpage. The task force will meet at least twice a year to review membership and consider the health landscape for the academic year, though it may meet more regularly, as needed.
