Andrea Garcia Malledo, BA

Andrea Garcia Malledo is a third-year student in the doctoral program for counseling psychology at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She received a BA in Psychology and Sociology/Anthropology from Gustavus Adolphus College.  Her past practical experience includes working with youth, families, and Spanish-speaking clients utilizing mental health treatment planning and psychological assessment. Andrea is dedicated to culturally affirming and inclusive of all intersections of identity, focusing on empathetically understanding an individual’s experience and story. As a native Spanish speaker originally from Venezuela, she enjoys using her native language and background to connect with people and create a welcoming, authentic, and empowering space for all.
