BIPOC Coalition
The BIPOC Student Coalition is a cohort of student representatives from Macalester’s Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and Asian/Pacific Islander cultural student organizations. Established in the summer of 2021, the goal of the BIPOC Student Coalition is to recognize and celebrate the history and impact of cultural student organizations at Macalester College and to ensure the longevity of those organizations.

BIPOC Gatherings
BIPOC Gatherings are an opportunity for the Macalester BIPOC community to gather, get to know each other, and build community. The goal is to create space for connection and relationship building. These gatherings take place twice a year at the end of each semester.

Critical Dialogue Series
The LSC’s Critical Dialogue Series aims to help the Macalester community build the skills needed to engage with complicated topics and form a deeper understanding of foundational critical dialogue principles.

First Generation Programs
The LSC hosts bi-weekly gatherings that focus on supporting first generation college students at Macalester. Events often include workshops on topics like wellness, financial literacy, study skills, and navigating Macalester and are followed by opportunities for group dialogue and reflection.

Identity Collectives
The Identity Collectives provide students, staff, and faculty with the opportunity to build community and engage in intra-group dialogue. Collectives are offered to recognize the multiple and intersecting identities we all carry and the importance of a supportive community as we explore our intersecting identities. Trained students and staff facilitate each collective group.

Qmmunity Connections
Qmmunity Connections is a monthly event that serves as a space to educate, connect, and discuss important LGBTQIA2S+ experiences and histories by bringing in community members and resources to build community support. Stay tuned for future event details!

Tea Time
Meet us in the Gender & Sexuality Commons (GSC) for Tea Time! Every other Friday, Tea Time events encourage LGBTQIA2S+ student connections, expression, and community making as we have game nights, crafting sessions, and movie nights. Interested? Meet us in the GSC (Lower Level Kagin) every other Friday from 4:45 to 6:00 p.m.!
