Complex research problems in theoretical particle physics often require high performance computing for their solution. For this purpose students participating in the theoretical particle physics research program have access to a dedicated Aspen Systems parallel cluster (nine node, eight processors per node). The cluster is housed in the controlled environment of the information technology server room and maintained by the academic information associate for the science division. The cluster is accessed remotely from two computers in the theoretical physics research room.
