Timely Warning Notice
We would like to inform you of a crime that has recently occurred in the campus area so you have the information you need to take the appropriate precautions. We are issuing this Campus Safety Alert in accordance with the “Timely Warning” provision of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act of 1998.
We are sending this message to heighten your awareness, to enable you to take actions which can help increase your safety, and to aid in the prevention of similar crimes. We are not including certain details in this alert so as to avoid releasing identifying information about the victim.
Security has received several reports of burglaries that have occurred on campus. Unknown parties have entered secure offices in Olin Rice and taken electronic equipment and other personal items. As a reminder, we recommend that you secure valuables in locked cabinets or other areas whenever possible.

Crime Prevention Suggestions:
- Do not leave personal belongings unattended in public areas for even short periods of time.
- Make sure you lock dorm room and office doors when you are not in the room.
- Report all crimes or suspicious incidents to Security or St. Paul Police.
- Remember suspect and/or vehicle information – including approximate age, height, weight, clothing, direction of travel, or any other noticeable characteristics.
