Where is your internship and what is your role there?
My internship was at Threads Dance Project (a local dance company founded by Karen L. Charles) where I worked to support administration. This meant taking on different projects as needed/directed by staff members of the dance company. This role also entailed me learning about the different administrative roles that hold up a dance company.

How did you come across this job?
Claudia, the head of the Theatre and Dance department emailed me about the opportunity.

How has your role been impacted by the pandemic?
Dance is a very in-person, community engaging type of work. With the pandemic this internship has to be online, where projects were done on one’s own time so the pandemic definitely made the experience isolated and independent.

Do you have any advice for other students looking for internships or jobs?
Make connections within your field and apply for whatever interests you. Even if you don’t meet the requirements, always apply anyways.
