MacNest Internship Program
Specifics of the MacNest program may change as we await funding for this program. If you have any questions, please reach out to Pete at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your patience.
MacNest provides internships for students to work closely with a founder in a complex, demanding work experience while deepening Macalester’s connections and influence in the Twin Cities startup ecosystem.
Are you curious about entrepreneurship, innovation, and startup culture? Do you want to gain experience to use in your academics and toward your future job? Do you want to understand the impact individuals can have on early stage ventures? MacNest is a summer internship program where students receive funding for unpaid internships with Twin Cities startups. Students will receive $5,000 to work 35 hours a week, free on-campus housing, and attend Thursday morning career development workshops to connect their internship experience to vocation.
Congratulations to our MacNest 2019 cohort!

For Twin Cities Startups – looking to host an intern?
MacNest is seeking a diverse set of local startups to be involved in the program. Any venture (NGO, non-profit, foundation, LLC, etc.) that has been in business for 0-3 years is eligible. As a startup, you have the chance to hire a highly motivated and intelligent intern, and someone else pays for it! If you meet the MacNest requirements and are selected, one member of your team will be required to come to our Student-Startup Matching Event (March 7th) to present a 1-minute pitch of your business, emphasizing the skills and attributes you aim to add to your team. You will then have a chance to meet the students while the MacNest team helps facilitate the formation of ideal student-startup matches. If you are interested, please fill out this Startup Application Form by February 10th, 2019.
MacNest is supported in part by a grant from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation.
