MacNest Climate Justice Internship Program

The Department of Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the Sustainability Office, is pleased to announce a new fund focused on preparing students to address one of the most pressing issues of our time, climate change. In collaboration with alumni Dr. Paul Rick ’64 and Dr. Margaret Rick ’64, 3-4 students per year will partner with organizations working toward just, equitable and regenerative solutions to the climate crisis.  The summer internships offer valuable mentorship and apprenticeship opportunities; students will gain skills for resilience-building in the future.

MacNest Summer Internship Program

The MacNest Summer program provides internships for students to work closely with a founder in a complex, demanding work experience while deepening Macalester’s connections and influence in the Twin Cities startup ecosystem. This is a 10-week summer internship program where students receive funding for unpaid internships with Twin Cities startups. Students will receive $6,250 to work 35 hours per week and attend career development and cohort workshops to make connections in their internship experience.

Do you have a student employment award and are curious about entrepreneurship, innovation, and startup culture? Do you want to gain experience to use in your academics and toward your future job? Do you want to understand the impact individuals can have on early stage ventures?  The Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation is excited to announce the MacNest Program during the Academic Year. This program offers students experience working remotely with an early stage startup based in the Twin Cities by earning their student employment award during the academic year.
