  • Navigating Campus

    This interactive campus map will help you find your way around campus. It shows you where to find campus buildings, parking, and accessibility features.

    If you need to meet with Human Resources on your first day to complete new hire paperwork, you can find us in the 77 Mac Building on the 2nd floor. Access to the building is by key card only – please call Human Resources at 651-696-6280 for access.

    Macalester maintains a number of parking lots on campus which can be found on the campus map. Community members who wish to park on campus should submit an online parking application. There is no cost to park on campus.  Additionally, street parking is also available.  Additional information can be found on the Public Safety website.
  • New Hire Paperwork

    On your first day of work, please arrive at Human Resources (77 Macalester Street, Room 201) at 9:00 a.m. to complete your onboarding paperwork.

    The following forms and documents must be completed as a new employee.

    Complete Onboarding in Workday

    From the Workday Support page, click the orange “Go to Workday” button. This will take you into Workday using Macalester’s single sign-on (SSO). Once you are logged into Workday, you can complete the required onboarding tasks for your employment.

    I-9: You will need to complete both Section 1 and 2 of the Form I-9. Please review the list of acceptable documents and bring those with you on your first day.

    • Please note the following:
      • For Section 1: You will log into Workday and complete Section 1 of the I-9 Form in your onboarding tasks.
        • Please note: need to wait 15 minutes before you can click this link when you are doing your onboarding tasks for both systems to talk with each other and update. Once you have waited 15 minutes, you can click the link and complete section 1. 
      • For Section 2: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT, that you make sure to complete Section 2 of the I-9 Form by coming into the HR office and completing this. They need to be the original copies and cannot be scanned, printed or screenshots of acceptable documents. 

    W-4: Please complete the online forms in Workday via your Onboarding Task.  Please note, you will need to complete both the Federal W-4 as well as the Minnesota W-4.

    Direct Deposit: Once you have received your Macalester email and have set your password, you will have access to our employee self service portal called Workday. To set up direct deposit, you will log into Workday, click on the task “Payment Election Enrollment Event”, 

    Benefits Enrollment: On your first day, you will have a task called “ New Hire Benefits” that will allow you to enroll in Benefits at Macalester College. Below are three links that we recommend you watch while enrolling.
