Event Planning

Hosting events and programs help orgs engage the Mac community and execute their purpose. Whether you are programming only for your members, or a broader range of people, successful programs all require some degree of careful planning. Feel free to consult with the CSLE Staff or Program Board members at any step of the way; both are great resources and are eager to support you.

When planning events, whether they are in-person, hybrid or virtual, it is important to consider accessibility needs of all participants. We strongly encourage all groups to review Disability Services’ Accessibility Toolkit for Virtual Programs, which provides very helpful and tangible steps for approaching your virtual program from an accessibility lens. And for in-person events review: How to Plan an Accessible Campus Event. For further support on accessibility practices, contact [email protected] or [email protected].

Additional information and resources can be found below to help you plan your event and help you navigate the process.  If you have any questions or need help, please reach out and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Please note that the last day of classes in both the fall and spring semester is also the last day to host a program or event. Student organizations are not permitted to host events past this date. In some instances, the Center of Student Leadership (CSLE) will consider granting an exemption. Organizations must have prior approval from CSLE if they wish to host a program or event beyond the last day of classes.
