year(s)

See also decades.

Use a comma after the year when writing a full date: She expects to graduate from college on May 15, 2021, and then attend graduate school.

When indicating a range of years in more formal, running text, use the preposition “to” rather than an en dash: He was chair of the department from 2016 to 2020, not “from 2016–2020.”
